Ugh. Today I went to a wedding shower and while I was sitting there watching them take tons and tons of pictures in front of the cake, I swore I would NEVER EVER do that. Seriously. I mean, I will get married, that’s not a big deal. But planning that crap? No freaking thank you. I am good. How about we go to Upstate New York in the fall, get hitched, and come home and have a huge party? I can plan a party… I think I can plan a party… How about this, my SISTER can plan the party. Now see? You can get away from all of that stress. And for people like me who don’t like to be the center of attention anyway, the idea of it seriously lifts about a ton off of your shoulders. I told Megan (my best friend who is getting married and having a pretty big shindig of a wedding) that she is a very strong woman for being able to put up with all of this. I would have lost my mind months ago.
I have wanted to sit and write about music for so long now. And I keep saying OH! I can write about this! Oh wait, no! This is a better idea! Or wait! I can do this instead! And as you can see, I have gotten nowhere with this indecisive thought process of mine. So I was thinking about linking to some videos that I have come across lately that I love. But just now, my iPod started playing Pearl Jam’s cover of Love Reign O’er me. And I thought to myself “I wonder if there are any awesome videos of The Who playing this back in the day.” And guess what I found!! I think I love it so much because not only is it from 1973, but also because that is some raw effing videographying. (videographying: verb; the act of videotaping. I like making up my own words).
So then I started thinking about other covers that I have loved recently. And here are just a couple more. I mean, if you’re interested and all.
Alright, after I post this video, you are probably going to assume that I kind of like Pearl Jam. Well, you will assume correctly. And also? Eddie Vedder? If you are reading this? Will you marry me?
Original: Big Hard Sun by Peter Gordon.
Eddie Vedder’s cover:
Ugh. I’m not a guy with man parts, but this song come this close to giving me a boner.

I also love me some Bruce Springsteen. I give my dad all of the credit for my amazing taste in music. This is the original song, I’m On Fire:
Cover by Bat For Lashes (Natasha Kahn):

One more just because I can’t help it. It’s so dang good that I must share!
Echo and the Bunnymen Lips Like Sugar:
Coldplay’s cover (not real videographying, but since the song is so good, it cancels out the shitiness of the video)

I hope you enjoyed this meaningless post. I concentrated very hard on it!

totally dig vedder. thanks for posting the Gordon’s too. good picking up trash with you this weekend.
